Our Mission
Curating hyper local information one city at a time.
Why Ayoo
Ayoo is derived from the word Ayo which means Joy in Nigerian dialect “Yoruba”, and in the Cameroonian dialect, “Bassa” is an exclamation that is used to express Sadness, Fear, Anxiety and is simultaneously used to express joy, happiness, and excitement.
Ayoo Africa was originally inspired by the song Ayo Africa by Cameroonian Longue Longue and pays homage to recently passed Musical Legend Manu Dibango.
Ayoo according to African American urban culture is the thing you say after something you are proud/happy/excited of. An Exclamation of excitement, a mix of TURNNNNNNUPPP & YO, The more O’s the more annoying/excited you are 😉
Ayoo as a word that creates an invisible bridge of cultures.
I/O SPACES designed Ayoo Africa’s to show both sides of the Made In Africa Experience. One side where we acknowledge the treatment of the African citizens at home and abroad. On the other side, we celebrate the achievements of Africans. We do this by bringing together a community of innovators who are leaders in their respective fields.
AYOO AFRICA, is a digital media platform where we curate hyper-local news sources from different content creators through an online cultural magazine and community platform to covers #MadeInAfrica experiences from music, food, startups, artists, film, and events from across the globe.
