Viola is the President and Co-Founder of Ovamba Solutions Inc., an African “Trade Tech” Company that creates culturally-attuned technologies for banks and central banks so that they can serve emerging market SMEs with innovative Sharia-compliant trade finance products.
Ovamba was created in 2013, and in 2014, it launched in Cameroon, after attracting significant investments from UK-based GLI Finance. Cameroon, a Country with over 200 local languages, Muslim and Christian communities, and an economy almost entirely comprised of SMEs was the perfect testing ground.
7 years later Ovamba has conducted 150+ transactions with 360 customers and partnered with banks to help them push financial inclusion and enable digital transformations. The company has originated almost $110million in deal flow in Cameroon, opened in Ivory Coast, and looking at opening in Nigeria and Guinea later this year. Viola has been listed as an industry leader in Forbes, Fortune, and other outlets.
