Eden’s passion for food is in her DNA. Her grandparents owned a café and spice market in Ethiopia. Her family opened one of the first Ethiopian restaurants in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Frustrated because she could not find a website that highlighted the rich and wide variety of black food, Eden Hagos, an Ethiopian Canadian did something about it. She founded and launched “Black Foodie”, a media and events company in 2015. She is popularly known as “Eden the Foodie” and has become a celebrated host, food writer, with food-related events throughout North America. Her website “Black Foodie” allows people to experience and explore food through a black lens by posting easy to follow recipes that teach you Black history through your tastebuds.
Her work and notable mentions have been featured in some notable media channels like Chatelaine, Essence, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and CBC.
