Anifa Mvuemba started her fashion label in 2012. Even though she moved to the U.S as a child, her greatest inspiration comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In late May this year, she streamed a cutting edge 3D fashion show on Instagram that shook the fashion industry. She ingeniously had 3D illustrations mimicking every step a physical model would have taken on a runway. It was simply beautiful, unique and different.
Her creations have been seen in publications like Elle, Essence, Bazaar and Vogue. She has dressed A-listers like Ciara, Kelly Rowland, and Vanessa Simmons.
One of Mvuemba’s goals is to raise awareness of the misfortunes of child labor within her nativeCcountry’s coal mining industry.
