John Hopkins is assisting Montgomery County to vaccinate residents against COVID-19. The Bethesda Magazine reports that 8,775 vaccines will first go to the elderly and MCPS Employees to prepare for schools opening.
#2. Free Mobile Hotspots
Montgomery County Residents can borrow mobile hotspots. Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) has announced the launch of “Internet to Go,” in select locations to ease the internet burden in this season. Certain requirements are required to borrow the Verizon MiFi mobile hotspots.
#3. Africa’s COVID-19 Second Wave
The latest variant of COVID-19 is causing havoc in Africa. Today News Africa reports that the lastest new strain of the virus that was initially discovered in the United Kingdom and then South Africa, is spreading ferociously across the Continent. The number of cases has risen to 175,000.
#4. Facebook Flexing with Apple
Zuckerberg is apparently becoming concerned about Apple being his number 1 competitor. Bloomberg shares a quote, “We increasingly see Apple as one of our biggest competitors,” Zuckerberg said. “Apple has every incentive to use their dominant platform position to interfere with how our apps and other apps work, which they regularly do to preference their own.”
