1. Ghana – “Fix The Country!”

Ghanaians are raising awareness on social media with a hashtag #Fix The Country”. Joy Online reports that some unhappy are describing the failure on the part of successive Governments to improve the lives of the citizenry. Topping the trends for the past 24-hours, the ‘#FixTheCountry’ topic has seen many celebrities joining the fray 240,000 tweets so far made. “This is the right time for us to stand up and come together as one people to speak and let them [government] know that we are tired,” Joshua Boye-Doe, a social media user and initiator of the #FixTheCountry campaign said.

2. Takoma Public Art

A new art project is brewing in Takoma Park. The Source of the Spring reports that The City of Takoma Park commissioned new public art by artist Trap Bob, who painted picnic tables last year at the gazebo for a project of Main Street Takoma. Trap Bob has painted three tables along the Takoma Streetery on Laurel Avenue with designs celebrating the power and resilience of Black women, according to the Arts and Humanities Division that commissioned the work to demonstrate the city’s commitment to public art and racial equity.

3. India & COVID-19

The situation in India is alarming. CNN reports that India reported 368,147 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, according to figures released by the country’s Health Ministry — the 12th straight day that more than 300,000 infections were confirmed.
