“What we do and say right now, truly defines us, and will define us on the other side of a crisis.” – Aba Kwawu
Aba Kwawu is the Trailblazer of the Technology & Innovation Category in Ayoo Africa’s 2020 Top Ten D.C Awards.
Aba Kwawu moved from Ghana to the United States of America with her family when she was quite young. She started out fulfilling her father’s dream by pursuing a medical career, but she felt weighed down after graduating from College. Inspired by a magazine in “Vogue”, she applied for a Masters program in Fashion Marketing and Business in London, in the United Kingdom and was accepted. Her plan was to graduate, take a break in the DMV with her family and then go back to school in France. Until a man changed the plan, and she got married. In the midst of a job, and lecturing at Howard University, her entrepreneurial mind came forth and she launched a PR firm.
TAA PR is one of the few Black female owned companies that is a results-oriented communications and special events boutique specializing in luxury lifestyle, fashion, design, entertainment & hospitality.
We recently had an interview with Aba on our Water and Grain podcast. Below is a snippet of a relevant conversation in the era on COVID-19. The full podcast is on spotify.
