Afua Sam is the founder of the clothing line, STUDIO D’MAXSI. and The A CONCEPT by Afua Sam. Her unique, edgy fashion designs have earned her several awards in the fashion world.
Ghanaian-born to a family of six, her craft is all self-taught. She got the creative bug from her late father who was a touring musician. Inspired by elements of her culture, creates memorable pieces.
Afua was inducted into the DC Hall of Fame Designers in 2019. Prior to that, in 2017, she was named by C-HUB Magazine in London, as one of 100 most influential creative people. She has also been featured in the Essence magazine.
Afua strives to empower the lives of children and women through the Afua Foundation.
