#1. VA legalizes marijuana
Recreational marijuana will be legal in Virginia in 2024. The Slate reports that Virgina has become the first Southern State to pass this legislation. You must be 21 or older, and possess an ounce or less of marijuana. 15 other States, plus D.C have legalized marijuana.
#2. The battle of the Apps
With the fairly recent launch of the popular Clubhouse App, other social media platforms are racing to create more ways to compete. Instagram announced yesterday the creation of “Live Rooms” where you can go live with 3 other people. Techcrunch reports that Facebook has launched an App for rappers to create beats and share videos. Either way, this means that as consumers, we have more options.
#3. COVID-19 Anal tests
Reports are surfacing that as of January, China is conducting anal tests to test for the coronavirus. BBC reports that Japan has officially asked China to stop anal tests when their citizens enter the Country. “Some Japanese reported to our embassy in China that they received anal swab tests, which caused great psychological pain,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said. Experts say that upper respiratory testing is more effective.
